Advice for Road Runners: Searching for lightweight running shoes that feel cushioned and supportive? The HOKA Women's Clifton 9 Running Shoes in the Seafoam/Aqua Breeze colourway should be a great choice.

Underfoot Feel

One of the standout features of the compression moulded EVA foam in the HOKA Clifton 9 Running Shoes is how light it is. This comfortable foam offers great protection at slower speeds, and extra responsiveness as you pick up the pace.

HOKA's signature MetaRocker™ technology - the curved heel to toe design - helps roll your feet forward. This should smooth out transitions and is likely to reduce the stress on your lower leg area.

Finally, even though the Clifton 9 are neutral running shoes, they should feel relatively supportive. This is because the midsole walls rise up and encapsulate your feet.

Upper Fit

Similar to the midsole, the upper of the HOKA Clifton 9 Running Shoes feels very light. However, padding on the tongue and inside the heel counter improves comfort.

The tapered back heel design makes it easier to put the shoes on and take them off.

Ideal Run Type

We recommend choosing the HOKA Women's Clifton 9 Running Shoes if you're running at a variety of paces. This is because the cushioning should feel comfortable across a range of speeds. Whereas, some models often feel best at either slow or steady speeds.

If you're running longer distances, you may want to consider a more cushioned option. For example, the HOKA Bondi 8 Running Shoes - as they offer more protection than the Clifton Running Shoes.

Sizing Advice

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
